Confederate Staff Officers

The Regulations for the Army of the Confederate States, adopted in 1861 and published by authority of the Secretary of War, issued from the Adjutant and Inspector-Generals Office in Richmond under the date of June 6, 1861, prescribed: “For General Officers and Officers of the General Staff-bright gilt, rounded at edge, convex, raised eagle in the centre, with stars surrounding it; large size, one inch in exterior diameter. Identified in Alberts reference as CS-36 A-2, rare backmark “C & J. W. / Warranted”. Excellent condition, non-excavated example.  100% Gilt     CS Acquisitions Musuem
