This pistol is a 54 caliber smoothbore, 8.5 inch round barrel, brass blade front site, with total length at 14″. Marked US/I.N. JOHNSON on lockplate, rear of plate marked MIDD.tn. CONN with 1854 date. Proof stamped on breech of barrel US/P with inspector initials stamped JCR, and inspector marked “B” throughout all assembly parts.
